How to Verify a Three-Wheeler Supplier Before You Order

Buying vehicles from a distant supplier is normal in export trade, but the distance makes verification essential. A short checklist before the first payment separates a serious partner from a risky one.

Start with the legal identity

Ask for the supplier’s registered company name and country registration number. Cross-check the name on the contract, the bank account and the email signature. A mismatch here is a red flag regardless of how good the website looks.

Check the address and site evidence

Ask for the registered address and verify it maps to the industrial area they claim. Real factories can usually provide workshop photos or video on request — and they are happy to, because it builds trust. Be cautious of suppliers who only have polished product photos and no site evidence.

Ask for current unit evidence

For an order, request current photos or video of the actual unit allocated to you: model plate, finished vehicle, and later the loading sequence. This is standard practice and any experienced exporter will provide it.

Verify through independent channels

Search the company name and registration number online. Check trade directories and business registration databases for the country of registration. Where available, ask for references from other importers or use a third-party inspection and audit service for large orders.

Use contract discipline

Put everything in writing: vehicle configuration, packing format, documents, payment milestones, delivery terms and remedies. The proforma invoice is the reference document. Never rely on verbal promises for a container of vehicles.

Protect the payment

Keep the deposit proportionate, tie the balance to a loading milestone, and use bank channels where the beneficiary name matches the contract. For larger orders, consider a letter of credit or third-party inspection before final payment.

The short answer

Verify the legal identity, ask for site and unit evidence, check independent records, and put every milestone in writing. A serious supplier welcomes this — the checklist protects both sides.
